How to delete Instagram messages on your Phone

One: on your Android phone

Step one: Open your Instagram app

Step two: On the upper right-hand corner of your screen, tap on the “Instagram Direct” icon, which appears as a small paper plane

Step three: Now, select the conversation you want to delete. Tap and hold on the target conversation to reveal “Mute” and “Delete” options

Step four: Finally, click on the “Delete” icon. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm your wish to delete the conversation. Tap Delete again to remove the conversation altogether. 

Two: on your iOS phone

Step one: Open your Instagram app

Step two: the upper right-hand corner of your screen, tap on the “Instagram Direct” icon, which appears as a small paper plane

Step three: Now, select the conversation you want to delete. It would be best if you swiped left to reveal the “Mute” and “Delete” options.

Step four: Finally, click on the “Delete” icon. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm your wish to delete the conversation. Tap Delete again to obliterate the conversation. 

How to delete Instagram messages on your computer or laptop

Here, we will show you how to clear messages through your PC. Follow these steps;

Step one: Open your web browser on your computer and access the Instagram website

Step two: Now, at the top-right corner of the screen, click on the “message” icon

Step three: You will reach the “Chats” page. Here, from the sidebar to the left, select the conversation in which you want to remove a message

Step four: Next, find the message to delete, hover over the messages, and click on the “three-dots” icon beside the message

Step five: From the three-dots menu, select “Unsend.”

Step six: a pop-up will appear. Choose “Unsend” again.

Finally, Instagram will delete the message from both parties involved in the conversation.

How to delete private Instagram messages by unsending them

Here, we will show you how to delete your Instagram messages by unsending them. Follow these steps;

Step one: Open your Instagram app on your phone

Step two: Next, open your Instagram Direct inbox by clicking on the small paper plane icon in the upper right side corner of your screen. 

Step three: Now, choose the conversation in which the message you wish to unsend appears and tap to open it.

Step four: After that, click on the message you want to unsend it and hold it for a while. The option to “Copy” or “Unsend” will appear above. 

Step five: Finally, click on “Unsend,” and the message will disappear from the conversation.

Never forget that if the contact you have sent the messages has Instagram notifications turned on, they will receive a notification when you unsend a message. On the other hand, the person you are messaging may still have seen your message before you unsend it, but it will no longer appear within the conversation anymore.

Delete your Instagram Direct Messages with AutoClicker

Step one: Open your Instagram app

Step two: Open the AutoClicker app

Step four: Next, go to your “Direct Messages” page on the Instagram app

Step ten: On Instagram, tap the delete line to move the process along again.

Step eleven: After that, click on the plus icon to create tap point 3 and drag the tap point to the appropriate spot.

Step twelve: Click on “Cancel” to not delete this conversation at this point.

Step thirteen: Now, click on the gear icon and give this tapping script a name. Save the script, and now you can run this command repeatedly for hundreds of iterations.

Step fourteen: Finally, click on the blue “Run” arrow to execute your script.
